Musket Cove AerialMusket Cove Marina and Resort is located on Malolo Lailai Island, 15 kilometers west of Nadi in the Mamanuca Islands, Fiji.  This great resort is a must see, with great beaches and awesome weather it is the perfect get away.  The book Living the Dream: Sailing the South Pacific and Southeast Asia photo by Vern and Connie Madison tells of their stay at this Cove and Island when they cruised there on Tainui (their yacht).  They had been on a rainy side of the island Suva and their fellow Yachtsmen were talking about the nice sunny weather on the other side of of the island.  They were tired of the Rain so they set sail for Musket Cove.

Dick Smith operated the Resort and that is probably why the restaurant and bar is called Dick’s Place.  The Marina offers moorings for yachts and there is a dive shop that doubles as an pool at musket cove photoactivities center.  The pool is great and the airport is close by.

Dick Smith had the names of members’ yachts carved on the beams of the resort buildings.  “Living the Dream” talks about this and many other privilegesLiving the Dream click here to get your copy sailors had during there life time membership to the “Musket Cove Resort”.  Sounds like a great vacation spot and even better cruising spot.

Musket Cove Island and Resort has a Web site that gets into even more details and some great photos of the area around the Cove.  This looks like a great place for a vacation to get away and I will be taking my boat their some day soon.  I just like the sound of it “MUSKET COVE”….Nice!

Lord out.
