Tip one of Ten.

When you are getting ready to go on a trip make sure you have only what you need.  Do not pack more than you need.  When I was young and about to travel to a foreign country for the first time I was scared and so I packed two really big suitcases full of everything I thought I might need.  I ended up dumping one of my cases and half my stuff because I really did not need it and because it got unbearable to carry all the time.  Buses and Trains only have room enough for people not their junk.  I later found that everything I need while traveling is available at the store.  So have some faith in the place you are traveling and trust that you can get everything you need to survive at the location you are traveling.  That should relieve some of the fear associated with travel and reduce the size of your case.

That being said you have to know that just because they have shaving cream of under arm in the country you are traveling it my not be the same brand or even act the same when you use it.  So if you have to use a certain brand product or you will die you better pack it.  I remember getting a 7 up in Brazil and having it taste like nothing I have ever tasted before.  Another example is Brazil having no Root beer!  Then again they had a Wal-mart and one trip I found Mac and cheese in an English box with a stamp in Portuguese on the side of it.

Reduce the fear and have more fun by not having to carry too much stuff by packing lite!
