Tip three of 10
It is always fun to take a friend on vacation. Being alone is not only lonely it is also not safe. The safety factor is greatly increased when you are with friends. One night as we walked the streets of Puerto Rico we came across an unpleasant view. I was walking in front with our newly found friend Dan and my wife was walking behind with Alex his wife. We were talking as we walked and I remember thinking that this did not look like the safest street when I saw the guy with the bat. He was raising it up over his head swinging downward toward the ground. The guy with the bat and his friend were about 50 feet away so it was hard to see what he was hitting. I could just make
out the figure of a person on the ground when the guy jumped up and started running for dear life. I looked at Dan who had seen the same thing as I and we both frowned. Then we both turned around and helped our wives to understand that we were going the wrong way and that we needed to hurry the other way. We did not tell our wives why we had turned directions until we got back to our cruise ship.
This is one reason for needing to have others with you for safety on any vacation. Another is that they can look after your stuff while you go swimming. Taking turns allows you to keep your stuff from getting stolen and you can swap off so you both can enjoy the water. I did this with a girl friend back before I was married. The only problem was that when I went to the water while she watched our stuff she got hit on by the life guard. Oops, so if you think the life guards might be a problem better make it a double date!
Watch out for your safety and the safety of your stuff by taking a friend on vacation with you.
Lord out.
