When I hear the word London my mind automatically thinks of St. James Place, Westminster and Big Ben.
Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north-eastern end of the Palace of Westminster in London. Although the name Big Ben refers to the bell it is often extended to include the clock or the clock tower as well, which is how I will reference it here.
Big Ben is the largest four-faced chiming clock and the third-tallest free-standing clock tower in the world and recently celebrated its 150th anniversary in May 2009.
Visual Media has often made Big Ben a symbol of the United Kingdom and London. By using the clock tower as a visual point a movie, commercial or picture can indicate where they are in London very simply. Likewise, in audio media the chimes have been used.

Beautiful imagery. I have yet to travel to see Big Ben, but hopefully after my schooling I will be able to start visiting some of these amazing locations.
