To Travel or not to Travel. The safety of our homes makes it pretty certain that nothing will happen to us. The only adventures we face on the comfort of our couches can easily be escaped by changing the channel.
No the only true way to adventure is through travel. To explore that which you have never seen before is the ultimate adventure. So get on the internet and find a travel destination, sites like ours, www.promaptraveler.com are great for doing some exploration without wasting money. You will learn about things that other travelers have already experienced. You can then , which will help you determine if you want to experience the same things or not. Once you find that perfect beach, that unforgettable mountain or that sweet manor house in the country that you are dying to visit I suggest getting photos and travel books.
Set up a planner that details a trip for your travels. Make sure to keep in mind that every plan must be flexible when you are traveling. Then book your travel and get going!
Traveling is kind of like planning to go down river starting at one point and getting out at another. You can plan to stop at several locations along the way but once you are in the river you will find out that the river has a mind of it’s own. Schedules change and flights are delayed. Cars break down and luggage is lost. Do not stress out just take everything that happens with a smile and you can still have fun.
Hopefully you will remember all of your traveling but from my experience I have found that I usually have so much to remember that I forget some of the really good stuff. So keep track of your memories.
A suggestion for your travels would be to write it all down in a travel journal. Start off with where you found out about your destination like www.promaptraveler.com and give reasons for why you wanted to come. Write down some goals like “I have to see this or that”. Sometimes during the chaos of traveling you will forget why you wanted to go to that destination in the first place. Put all of your relevant booking information from Booking Travel in your Travel journal. That way all of the information is ready just in case you need it (like when was my flight home?). Now keep a daily log of things that you encountered and experienced during each day. You may think I have nothing to report for today. I suggest starting to write and you will find that you do have more to put down than you thought you did. I always noticed that I had already pushed some great stuff to the back of my memories and it took writing in my journal to get them to come back to the front.
So get out there and travel. The adventures will flow in and you will have lots to tell your Journal and then your family and friends when you get back. Not to mention how great it is to reminisce about the trip years later.

I agree that travel is the best type of adventure. For those who have retired like myself, it can be a dream come true to always be somewhere new.
