My Brother-in-Law is in the Armed Forces and currently assigned overseas, specifically Iraq. We got the call that he was flying in to Spokane Washington for a two week holiday and his wife wanted all of the family there to welcome him home. So it was off to Spokane we went. The drive was about four hours and the roads were clear. We, being my wife and two sons, took our four wheel drive truck up I-90.
The coolest part of the trip was seeing the Christmas lights that are located along I-90. It was night when we left but that was alright because there was no snow. There is a section of Interstate 90 that has nothing but farmland and a few years ago it was a dark stretch of road. A farmer who owned several sections of land that bordered the Interstate found that he could position his self propelled watering systems so he could use their power to get some Christmas lights going. Once he made the discovery many wonderful decorations came to life. My boys really liked the two Christmas light kids throwing snowballs back and forth at each other. The snowballs actually moved and the two kids made of lights would duck down to avoid being hit. Locked in and eternal snow ball fight. There were many great decorative lights and the kids were laughing and making “Wow” sounds as we passed through that part of our trip. Many thanks to the farmer with the Christmas lights!
The rest of the trip was easy at normal speeds of seventy miles per hour until we got close to Spokane when the snow began. It was light snow but we had to slow down because it was sticking to the road. We stopped off at a grocery store by the air port and got some balloons for our return soldier. We then waited in the airport for his arrival. We came walking down the ramp and hugged his wife and then little boy with vigor. Even after being on a plane for twenty some odd hours he was very awake for the reunion with his family. I could tell he had missed them deeply.
I appreciate the sacrifice he has made to serve his country and I celebrate my freedom to be able to travel accross the state to
see the christmas lights and plow through the snow. We got home yesterday from our long and slow drive in the snow. Today I have just come in from playing in that snow with my boys. We have dashed through the snow in many ways over the last couple of days.
Hox out.

Lord out
Nice post!! Last year when the snow and ice got to bad for me to move the manure around back. I started a second pile close to the barn, until hubby could get the tractor out to move it. IT worked and didn’t make a mess at all. I was thankful for it.
Best Regards,
