There is no doubt that Uganda is an exciting destination. Africa may be underdeveloped in terms of infrastructure but Uganda has undergone huge changes that have rapidly improved the quality of life throughout the country. Now many tourists choose to visit every single year and base themselves in the ancient capital while adventuring out into the breathtaking land. You will discover that there is a very diverse range of Kampala hotels you could choose for your stay.
Situated in the south of the country, Kampala is known for being one of the greenest cities in the whole of Africa. It is located in a wonderful spot surrounded by seven hills. Though originally settled many hundreds of years ago, today you will find a lively mix of old world charm, and modern development. You will not find the hustle and business too overwhelming as in many cities in this part of the world.
Today tourism is a vital component of Uganda’s economy. It is a sector that brings the country more than half a billion dollars annually. This would not be possible without offering a wide selection of accommodation that caters to various tastes. The up market chains all have a presence in the capital as well as in more rural locations. For example there is the Sheraton Kampala, Holiday Express, and Grand Imperial to name but a few.
If your trip to Uganda will involve heading out of the capital that the lodgings available will be simpler but this does not mean a lack of quality. Even when on safari the lodges and camps that you stay at will provide you with luxury five star treatments. Today the options in Uganda can be compared favorably too many other destinations. Of course if you are on a tight shoe string then there is always the option of budget guesthouses and cheap lodges.
The city itself has a lot to offer. You should not just rush out in to the savannah and tropical forests. For example just ten minutes from the city centre are the Kasubi tombs. These are the spiritual centre of the traditional Buganda culture; they actually house deceased members of the royal family.
You should also fit in a visit to Africa’s only Bahai temple. You can easily stroll here in the warmth of the evening sun. It is a wonderful place to take in a sense of the culture and heritage.
It is no surprise that that people in Kampala and Uganda have become well known for their friendliness and hospitality. A trip to Kampala will leave you with only positive memories of the accommodation and staff.

No doubt Uganda is really a beautiful place. I have had two tours of Uganda and it has large variety of attraction. The accommodation price is also reasonable and amenities are as well. I want to Rwanda and Uganda visit this year 2010 in September.
